The NCAA Men’s Basketball FInal Four has been marching towards a culmination for the past several weeks and now is just four teams.  Oh wait, make that three.  Louisville has punched their ticket for the finals of the NCAA men’s tournament in the first game of the semi-finals with a 72-68 win over a spunky Wichita State team.   Louisville was without their star shooting guard Kevin Ware who had to cheer from the sideline after breaking his leg in Louisville’s previous game.

While many said Wichita State was a surprise entry into the Final four, they  had beaten many top ranked teams including Gonzaga as well as Ohio State to get there  Now Louisville will await their competition with the completion of the other semi-final.

Matthew Warren, the son of famed pastor Rick Warren, committed suicide about 10am on Friday.   His father, Pastor Warren is known for running the Saddleback Church of Lake Forest, California.  Police were called to the house where they found the 27 year old Matthew Warren dead from a self inflicted gun shot.

Six Americans including a Diplomat were attacked and killed in Afganistan.  The attack occurred just as Join Chiefs Chairman General Martin Dempsey arrived in the country.   The six people who were killed were in a convoy delivering children’s books to a school.

Nelson Mandela, the elder stateman of South Africa, has been in hospital undergoing treatment for pneumonia during the past week.  Mandela, who is now 94 years old, served as the first black president of Softh Africa during the transition from Apartheid to Democracy.  (1994-1999).

A Vintage Commodore Amiga 1000 computer sold today for $9100 USD on EBay.   The computer which was factory sealed in the original box is thought to possibly be the only one in existence in this condition.   The Amiga 1000 or the A1000 as it is known was released in 1985 and discontinued by Commodore in 1987.  The A1000 originally retailed for $1295 USD for the 256kb RAM configuration of the A1000.

President Obama has put a bug in NASA’s ear towards capturing an Asteroid and pulling it as close to our moon as possible.   While the mission seems a bit far fetched, the White House was kind enough to back up their idea with a request for $105 Million USD for the mission in 2014 NASA Budget allocations.

A Suicide Bomber attacked an election tent in Baquba, Iraq today, killing 22 people.   The tent belonged to Muthanna Ahmed Abdulwahid and was staffed by his supporters,  The candidate himself was unharmed.
